The series ran from 1991 to 1994 and followed the life of a teenage girl who talked directly to the camera, explaining her life and the challenges she faced. After "Clarissa Explains It All," Hart continued to work in television, starring in the popular teen drama "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch," which ran from 1996 to 2003. Hart played the lead role of Sabrina Spellman, a teenage girl who discovers she is a witch and must navigate the ups and downs of high school while also learning how to use her magical powers.

In addition to acting, Hart has also worked as a producer and director. She produced and starred in the TV movie "The Santa Con" in 2014, and has directed episodes of several TV shows, including "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch" and "Melissa & Joey," a sitcom in which she also starred.

Hart has been married to musician Mark Wilkerson since 2003, and the couple has three children together. In addition to her acting and directing work, Hart is also an author, having published a memoir, "Melissa Explains It All: Tales from My Abnormally Normal Life," in 2013.
